Mariette Steeg

Mariette Steeg brings over 15 years of experience in real estate law, advising national and international clients on complex transactions and structuring real estate funds. She began her career at Houthoff Buruma, specializing in high-stakes real estate deals, drafting and negotiating contracts, and mentoring junior associates within the largest real estate department of any Dutch law firm. She then joined the Financial Intelligence Unit Curaçao as a lawyer, where she gained expertise in compliance and regulatory frameworks.

Mariette later became Senior Legal Counsel at a.s.r. real estate, managing retail asset transactions, renewable energy projects, and fund structuring, while contributing significantly to sustainable investment initiatives.

Returning to VANEPS, Mariette brings a wealth of expertise to our real estate team. With prior experience with our firm, she combines in-depth knowledge of the Dutch Caribbean legal landscape with her innovative approach and commitment to practical solutions, making her an invaluable partner in achieving our clients’ business objectives.
