Vin Soeltaansingh

Vin Soeltaansingh is an experienced attorney and specializes in corporate litigation and commercial dispute resolution, including those involving vessels and their owners/operators.

Vin represents a broad spectrum of clients in shareholder and commercial disputes in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Statia and Sint Maarten. He appears before the courts of first instance and appeal, including the Enterprise Chamber in inquiry proceedings.

Because of his specific knowledge of financial regulatory law, Vin regularly acts as counsel for financial institutions in proceedings. He also advises them on a broad scale of (cross-border) financial regulatory matters.

Recent work highlights include:

  • Acting as counsel in a USD 100+ million multi-jurisdictional liability matter that is brought before the ICC in arbitration and before the courts of Curaçao;
  • Coordinating all litigation projects in Suriname for a Fortune 500 company;
  • Assisting the largest financial institution in the Dutch Caribbean in various proceedings;
  • Advising the world’s leading provider of investment solutions, BlackRock Inc., in (successfully) obtaining a license from the financial supervisor to offer participations in its investment funds in Curaçao

    Related activities

    For nearly five years, Vin was a part-time lecturer in corporate governance, private law and private international law at the University of Curaçao.

    Vin studied at the University of Amsterdam, majoring in corporate law (with highest honors).
