This week Cable & Wireless Communications and Liberty Latin America (LLA) announced the acquisition of all shares held in United Telecommunication Services N.V. (UTS) by the country of Curaçao.
The acquisition increases Cable & Wireless Communications’ scale in Curaçao and expands its footprint to St. Maarten, Bonaire, St. Barths, St. Eustatius and Saba. By combining the operations of Cable & Wireless Communications with UTS, the largest full-service telecommunications provider in the Dutch Caribbean will be created.
