Every year, the faculty of law of the University of Curaçao (UoC) organizes a Moot Court to prepare law students to litigate in court. Attorneys at law Rogier van den Heuvel, Nedra Evertsz and Tiffany de Palm assisted the participating students in their preparations for the climax of the Moot Court: the plead session on 21 and 22 March at the Court in Curaçao.
Friday 2 March, experienced litigator Rogier van den Heuvel was invited by the UoC as a guest lecturer, to teach the participating students about the do’s en don’ts when pleading in court. On Friday 9 March, Nedra Evertsz and Tiffany de Palm welcomed six students at our office in Curaçao, to help them draft their memorandums of oral arguments.
VANEPS attaches great value to high-quality education within the Caribbean society. We support several initiatives in this area, including providing support at moot courts. Other examples include the presentation of the annual Thesis Prize in Aruba and Curaçao and the organization of (guest)lectures.
